Advisory Council

The Cline Group, LLC. has formed an advisory council to provide us with strategic guidance and industry insights.

Senior level industry executives with broad operational, marketing, sales and communication experience represent the advisory council.

Andrew Burroughs

Andrew Burroughs has held various senior executive management positions in the international telecommunications, long distance, wireless and software industry segments. He previously served as CEO of The Helios Group, a provider of strategic marketing and communication services. He was Chief Marketing Officer of Schema Ltd., a wireless optimization software provider. Prior to Schema, Mr. Burroughs held the position of Chief Marketing Officer and General Manager at Apogee Networks, an enterprise and carrier software billing provider. Mr. Burroughs also held the position of Vice President/General Manager at Teleglobe, where he was responsible for managing Teleglobe’s enterprise services division and its global value-added services business. He was also Vice President of Global Marketing at Teleglobe. Other positions held by Mr. Burroughs include: Senior Vice President Operations of TeleZone Corporation, a wireless services provider; President, Mobilink, the North American cellular consortium; Vice President, Global Marketing at Sprint International, Vice President of Sales and Marketing of PTAT (Private TransAtlantic Telecommunications Corporation).

Mr. Burroughs brings extensive sales, marketing and communications experience in both the enterprise and carrier market segments.

He holds a MBA from San Francisco State University and a BA in Political Science from the University of California at Berkeley, where he graduated with High Honors. He is currently studying for his Juris Doctorate at Rutgers. Mr. Burroughs has also been a Fulbright Scholar, Fellow of the Japanese Ministry of International Trade and Industry, President’s Scholar at the University of California at Berkeley, California State Scholar and Alumni Scholar at Berkeley.

Jason Briggs

Jason Briggs is a technology and business professional with more than fifteen years experience examining technology trends and advising on business strategies to best capitalize on these trends.

Mr. Briggs currently works for Comcast as a Business Development Senior Director in the Advanced Technologies group where he evaluates new technologies needed to improve Comcast’s video products. In addition to this role, Jason works for a Comcast joint venture with Motorola where he licenses video technology to companies that manufacture video products for the cable industry.

Prior to Comcast, Jason was an analyst for The Yankee Group focusing on software for telecommunications and broadband companies. He consulted with senior management of some of the largest software companies on product positioning, competitive analysis, partnerships, M&A, product roadmap, strategic technology direction and overall market trends. Jason was a frequent speaker at industry conferences and has been quoted in numerous publications including The New York Times, the Boston Globe and the Wall Street Journal.

Mr. Briggs began his career as a CPA for Deloitte & Touche.

John Casey

John J. Casey is the Chairman of the Board at Evolving Energy Systems. Mr. Casey has more than forty years of business experience having served as Chairman and CEO for companies in insurance, finance, radio, television and manufacturing industries. Mr. Casey has been a member of the American Bar Association, as well as the Massachusetts Bar Association. He has been a General Securities Principal and the recipient of many high honors in the Insurance Industry.

Mr. Casey brings business guidance and solid business relationships, as well as assistance in financing and raising of capital. Mr. Casey is a graduate of Suffolk University Law School in Boston, Mass.

Phil Marshall

Phil Marshall is the Chief Research Officer of Tolaga, where he leads its software architecture and development, and directs Tolaga’s thought leadership for the mobile industry. Before founding Tolaga, Dr. Marshall was an Executive at Yankee Group for nine years, and most recently led its global service provider technology research globally, spanning wireless, wireline, and broadband technologies and telecommunication regulation.

Marshall has 20 years of experience in the wireless communications industry. He spent many years working in various engineering operations, software design, research and strategic planning roles in New Zealand, Mexico, Indonesia and Thailand for Verizon International (previously Bell Atlantic International Wireless) and Telecom New Zealand. In addition, Marshall was an electrical engineer at BHP New Zealand Steel before he attended graduate school. He has a PhD degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and is a Senior Member of the IEEE. His technical specialty is in radio engineering and advanced system modeling, and his operational experience is primarily in communications network design and optimization.

Cara L. Knox, MS

Cara L. Knox brings to The Cline Group 15 years of marketing and communications experience. Throughout her career, Cara has worked for large advertising, public relations and marketing agencies in Boston, London, New York, and Washington, DC representing Fortune 500 companies, government agencies and nonprofit organizations.

Currently, Cara is the marketing and communications director for Mercy, the eighth largest Catholic health care system in the U.S. She is responsible for marketing and patient service for a new division of Mercy Clinic in the East Communities.

Cara also served as marketing and communications director for Accenture. In this position, she leveraged multiple communication channels to market Accenture’s services to the federal government, including civilian, defense, border management, and public safety agencies. Her work for Accenture has been recognized with a PRSA Big Apple, Silver SABRE and client team of the year awards.

A Washington, Mo. native, Cara is an active member of the Washington Rotary Club, Washington Area Chamber of Commerce and a board member for Gateway Center for Autism and Stephens College Alumnae Club of St. Louis. She owns her own stationery business, Cara Knox, LLC and is certified to teach social, business and children’s etiquette from The Etiquette Institute.
